A company offering stairlifts for British people needing help in their homes has won a prestigious award for its products.

Stannah Stairlifts was this week honoured with the Queen's Award for Enterprise in its International Trade category for the fourth time in the firm's history.

The company has expressed its delight with the win, which it believes was presented due to its efforts in growing revenue overseas as well as providing commercial success in the UK.

"This remarkable accomplishment is a reflection of the hard work and commitment of the Stannah workforce and our relentless pursuit of quality and excellence in our products and customer service," a statement from the firm said.

DAY Elevator & Lift recently claimed that stairlifts are now becoming a regular feature in many modern residential buildings in order to help elderly and disabled people, who may not otherwise be able to climb a flight of stairs due to mobility problems.ADNFCR-2649-ID-19738022-ADNFCR
