Users of mobility aids break world record

Users of mobility aids marked the 20-year anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by making a world record attempt.
The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation in conjunction with Life Rolls On organised the feat - which saw 193 people travel in wheelchairs in one straight line - 87 more individuals than the 105 people who previously held the record for performing the stunt at Woodstock, New York in 2008, according to Dagmar Barlow writing for Suite101.
Speaking at the event, Gary Karp commented "ADA gives us access to our potential and it allows us to participate and contribute,"
"It's not the disability that limits us - it's the barriers," he added.
To break the world record, the participants followed an "S" shape marked out by orange cones - a tribute to actor Christopher Reeve, who famously played the role of Superman.
The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation was set up in 1982 to fund research into spinal cord injuries and improve the life of people with paralysis.
