Mobility Scooters Driving Test
Mobility Scooters Driving Test.
Recent news articles in both the Daily Mail and Telegraph have called to implement a driving test for mobility scooter users. Members of Parliament want an urgent review of the legislation and safety of scooters (invalid carriages) which may involve users taking a driving test to ensure they are capable of operating and driving safely.
Due to recent spate of accidents involving mobility scooter, combined with the increase number of scooters on pavements and roads attention has been drawn to potential accidents which may occur.
Labour MP Graham Stringer said: ‘There’s sufficient evidence that these things can be seriously dangerous both to users and pedestrians.
It is said that under these new proposals, users would have to pass some sort of threshold to show they were not a danger.
