Heavy Duty Mobility Scooters

We often get asked for information on heavy duty mobility scooters; these are scooters which are capable of carrying heavier users than traditional scooters, some with a maximum weight capacity of up to 38 stone. There are various different makes and models available from a number of different manufacturers. Below is a summary of some of the more popular models which fall into the heavy duty category:

Electric Mobility Rascal 889

This is a road legal Class 3, 8mph 4 wheeled mobility scooter with a range of up to 38 miles. It is fitted with a reclining seat and adjustable headrest for a comfortable ride. The maximum weight capacity is 35 stone (225kg).

Electric Mobility Rascal 625

This mobility scooter is an 8mph road legal model. This particular model of Electric Mobility Rascal 625 has a maximum range of 30 miles and a maximum user weight of 32 stone (204Kg).

Shoprider Cordoba Mobility Scooter

Again being a road legal scooter, it is also fitted with a speed adjuster allowing the speed to be set a 4mph for pavement use.  It has a maximum range of 35 miles and can carry up to 35 stone (220kg).

The Shoprider Torino

This is a heavy duty 3 wheel mobility scooter which can travel up to 8mph, with a maximum range of 34 miles and a maximum weight capacity of 35 stone (222Kg).
