Stair Lift Buying Tips
When you are buying a stair lift, ask if the sales representative know his products. A good rep should know the products they’re selling inside and out. They should be able to tell you whether a stair lift will suit your staircase.
Do not be afraid to ask to see information on the company. How long have they been trading? Do they have full insurance in place? Have they any customer testimonials?
Ask about after installation service. What length and quality of warranty is offered? How quickly can they react to a breakdown? Have they got their own workforce to rectify any problems?
Enquire about an extended warranty. How long does the standard warranty last, and is it possible to extend this warranty?
Check for reports or information on the company you are purchasing from to see if there is any negative news.
If you are buying second hand stair lift, ask to see how old the stair lift is. And ensure you can purchase spare parts should anything go wrong. Curved staircases usually require a specifically designed stair lift, therefore it is unlikely that you will be able to purchase one second hand that fits your staircase perfectly.
