Inflatable Bath Lifts

An inflatable bath lift could greatly assist you in entering and exiting the bath. They simply operate by the user sitting on the inflated rigid chair and gradually releasing the air which lowers the user into the water. To exit re-inflate the chair to slowly rise out of the water to level with the edge of the bath.
The inflatable lift is attached to the bottom of the bath with suckers, and modern lifts are operated by a hand held control. An air compressor unit is attached to the chair to inflate when required. These units are usually battery operated due to safety reason (water and electricity). The battery can be recharged by mains power. Modern products offer a very rigid and firm platform to sit on when lowering down and when getting out of the bath.
When filling the bath with an inflatable cushion in place the user will need to consider the volume of space which is taken up. When the cushion is inflated the volume of space will reduce and the water level will drop. After using the cushion for a while the user will become accustomed as to the amount of water required for a comfortable bath. If you add more water when the seat if deflated it is important to drain at least that amount of water before inflating the cushion gain.
Even though an inflatable lift will aid entering and exiting the bath a degree of upper body strength will still be required to fully exit the bath. Grab rails correctly located will help with this.
