Adjustable beds can be adjusted into a position to suit the requirements of the user. If you have a medical condition that requires you to sleep in certain positions then an adjustable bed may help. Sometimes, even those without medical needs can use adjustable beds just to have a comfortable sleep.

Electric beds come in various forms - the pocket spring mattress or the modern foam mattresses. They can be electronically controlled through a controller. The head, neck, shoulders, upper and lower back, hips, thighs, legs and feet can be comfortably positioned on the bed by adjusting the different parts of the bed. This can be done by the simple touch of a button.

There are adjustable beds that can be automatically adjusted at the touch of a button. The user can operate them without assistance. They are available in various models, as per the user's requirements, and these beds can be adjusted electronically to suit personal requirements.

Adjustable beds have two main components - the base and the mattress. The main features to be taken into consideration while buying an adjustable bed are the type of mattress (foam, latex, coil spring or air) and the size of the mattress (twin, queen, king or full).

Ordinary mattresses cannot be used on adjustable beds. The adjustable bed mattresses are also specially designed to suit the human body. This helps to relieve strain on certain parts of the body and proper spinal alignment. They are also provided with adjustable rails on either side.

Because of their increasing popularity king size adjustable beds have become quite popular with a demmand for headboards to fit, and extras such as adjustable air beds.

Most beds will be set standard sizes as outlined in the chart below. Some manufacturers will make more bespoke beds and tailor them to the customers needs.
